Admit it, we all want loyal visitors to read our blog. Loyal visitors are easier to convert into buyers, loyal visitors would most likely promote you, for FREE! Though the truth is, it’s very hard to keep an ordinary internet “surfer” to come back and read your blog. Therefore, keep these tips handy to convert those “surfers” into regular, loyal readers:
Pop-out Contests
Ever wonder why Mr. Chow holds tons of contests every month? What’s in it for him aside from the backlinks he gets? I mean he could sell his Microsoft Zune and just use the money to buy him quality backlinks.
But to those who hate JC, don’t underestimate him cause smart Mr.Chow does some pretty good job. He gives away something he doesn’t need (Microsoft Zune) in exchange with what he wants, Exposure! Even though he may not get as much quality backlinks, he still gets loads of exposure in the process which drives traffic to his blog and due to the fact that he holds contest dozens of times, those driven visitors may convert into loyal readers.
Promote Your Feed
Surfers easily forget sites that they like love (Just imagine that even you visit hundreds of sites everyday) when they don’t have a tool used to remember it. You can’t compete on his browser’s bookmarks, you won’t get noticed there. How much more if that surfer doesn’t know how to organize his bookmarks 
? Good thing, feeds that automagically sends all your posts to subscribers instantly were invented. (Now go to your admin panel and switch to full feeds :P)
Promote it as hard as you can (But, promise me not to make it annoying) and you’ll be converting surfers into loyal readers customers in no time! Though after getting them to subscribe, try your best to make the nastiest headlines to make them read your posts!
Forums and Chatrooms
Even though managing your own forum is kinda hard to do (You keep record of many things, block spammers, etc.) It’s still worth it. When you have built a stable community, it just keeps growing and growing because when you have a forum, you’re giving your readers freedom to utter what they have in their head. This way, many would make friends and mostly will come back to your site.
Throw Polls and Surveys
Another way of converting your visitors into loyal readers is by throwing out polls and cool surveys (Try to be controversial and extraordinary). Take DBL’s poll for example, I really love how he managed to get those grandbloggers to be in mortal combat with each other
Remember to always take things to the next level!
Fresh and “Unique” Content
Take note on the word “unique”. Many surfers were on the net for years, so this means, you have to have (You really should have :P) the guts to impress those guys with fresh and unique content. Sometimes, try to reinvent things. Just make it unique as possible. That’s what people want, cause, still “Content is King”
Now it’s done, you “MUST” take action. Reading this won’t get you anywhere.
